Tonight is Part Two of our Hunter Valley Special and it is jam packed with everything you need to know about your Hunter Valley Wedding. There are plenty of ceremony and reception ideas, fabulous wineries, stunning bridal make-up, very original transport and the most romantic of proposals-all brought to you by ‘Your Hunter valley Wedding Planner.’

Vanessa is starting off with a sunrise hot air balloon ride with Balloons Aloft. Not only is this adventurous, romantic and fun but guys trust us if you’re going to propose, why not do it high above the stunning expanse of the Hunter’s wineries and countryside? She’s then off for a make-up lesson with Kim from Blush Brides where she learns all the top secrets and tips of the trade.

Kim made Finalist in the ” Mumpreneur” Awards 2010

Today is an exciting day !    I have found out that I have been made a Nominee, and now made it to be a  finalist in the 2010 Australian Mumpreneur awards in the category of   Best Service Business, proudly presented by Connect2mums.

These awards run across all of Australia and New Zealand,  recognise the best and the brightest in the AusMumpreneur industry , Professional and Innovative Business Mums achieving success in their business, products, innovation, and excellent services in both their on and off line businesses.

You all may not know, but yes I am a mum !   I have 3 gorgeous kids, Ava (4yrs ) , Kai ( 2yrs ) and Baby Jet ( 5 months ).  Blush Brides was launched when my first bub Ava was just six months old, and I was working doing the makeup by myself. Two more babies on, and I now have the most awesome team of hair and makeup artist working along side me to help make over 300 of our gorgeous brides each year,  look and feel fabulous on their wedding days.

I really do feel like I have the best job in the world. Being involved in wedding is like the ultimate girls day out – Dresses, Jewellery, Hair, Makeup, Champagne and loads of smiles. The best part is I am able to operate this amazing business which has grown to be one of the top bridal Hair and Makeup services across Sydney and the Hunter, all whist growing my beautiful young family.

Wish me luck for July 31 ! There are 4 other fabulous businesses also up  for the award, may the best business win !

Photo Shoot with KMU photography

photo shoot hair and makeup I met the lovely Kristen from KMU photography whilst working on The Wedding Show last month and knew straight away that I liked her style.

So, when Kristen asked us if we would partner her in a Fashion Bridal shoot at the Gorgeous Iron Bark Hill reception venue, we were only too pleased to get involved.

We had a blast and it all turned out just gorgeous .  I was a little worried about how smoothly it would all go when I had to take my 3 month old bub with me. He was a perfect angle thank goodness !   Just quietly I think he enjoyed everyone fussing over him.  :)

I have a few images now to show off, and will post some more as soon as I get them…. including some awesome hair and makeup shot Kristen took for us.

The Gorgeous property at Iron Bark gave Kristen plenty of fabulous backdrops for the shoot. This is location you really must check out if looking for a Hunter Valley venue. They also have accommodation on site, and like I said in a previous post, the most amazing fireplace , so romantic for a winter wedding.

Call Melissa for a tour of Iron Bark, you’ll be impressed. I was !

The Wedding Show – Foxtel Reality Tv for Weddings !

Vanessa, Presenter of The Wedding Show What an exciting week the Blush Brides team had , working on the FOXTEL reality TV show ……

” The Wedding Show ”  last week.

Kim and the team were recommended by ‘Your Hunter Wedding Planner ” magazine, to work their magic on the gorgeous presenters of the show, including Bessie Bardot and Vanessa Sanchez.

I must say we we were very flattered to have the opportunity arise , and had an absolute ball.  We felt like part of  The Wedding Show family !

Our days began at 7.30 am out in the stunning Hunter Valley. Being day time, outside filming, and high definition viewing we keep makeup fresh and minimal – Just the way we like it !

For extra impact in the eyes we used the Harlotte “Two Sweet ” false lashes each day. They were a huge hit with both vanessa and Bessie.  Gotta love those lashes.

Camera finish powder from Napoleon was used through out the days to maintain our look. It was quite hot outside, so having it so handy to use in the compact made touch ups so easy.

Day 1  was out at the amazing IRONBARK  HILL. This is one of the most stunning reception centers I have seen.  It has gorgeous sand stone pillars, huge glass walls, and a breath taking fire place.  Kristie and I had a wonderful first day on the shoot. We were even  treated to some bubbly and a delicious lunch by the lovely Melissa, the new owner of iron bark. – Thanks Melissa !
